“A beautiful forested run up to a peaceful mountain lake.”— Robyn Pepin
Start your moderate climb from the parking lot, hitting a number of switchbacks. After about 1 mile, you'll meet up with the PCT— take a left and continue along the PCT. The grade gets a little easier as you traverse through a variety of heavy forest and exposed portions. You'll get sneak peak views at the surrounding mountains as you make your way along.
A little over 2 miles in, you'll come across an intersection marked with a cairn—continue along the flatter path to get to the lake (turning up the hill to the right will take you to a fading trail with views of the lake and mountains). The trail will soon start to head down in elevation, and you'll start to see the lake over the edge of the trail.
Stay left (follow the signs!) to reach the lake, where several rocky outcrops make good rest points, or you can stop along the sandy beach to take in the view. When you've had your fill, turn back the way you came, or continue along the PCT.
