Admittedly, though I've done this trail many, many times, I've only ever done it in the opposite direction; going from the grand junction, downhill to Wild Rose Park as a return from a loop that started at Woodbriar or Wild Rose. Anyhow, find the switchback for this trail near the top of Wild Rose Park. Follow it to another switchback and a bench with a nice overlook. Beyond the bench, the trail continues up along a beautiful section of ridge that remains wide open most of the way.

Watch for rainbows if the ridge is in a cloud.
