The trail has one creek crossing.

From Spring City, turn east onto 400 South and travel approximately 0.5 miles. Turn right onto 500 East and travel approximately 1.2 miles. Take a slight right onto Canal Canyon Rd, and travel approximately 3.0 miles to the Canal Canyon Trailhead.

The trail follows along Canal Canyon Creek for about half of the trail. The trail can be steep and has only a few flat spots. It also connects with Horseshoe Trail #5090 and Grizzly Gulch Trail #5412.
