Description

Easy sandy track through the trees, with one leg going past the pond. There are educational signs along the trail and it's dappled shade in the trees. You can make the whole loop back to the trailhead, or turn off where you join up with the Pond Trail Loop. Trails and markers are color coded at John F. Burke, and the Thicket Trail Loop is indicated with red.

Flora & Fauna

I've seen dragonflies, damselflies, and crickets, and I've heard cicadas and birds. The river and pond will have turtles and fish, and often egrets and killdeer. North Texas woods commonly host rabbits, snakes, raccoons, possums, foxes, deer, bobcats, and more, so keep a sharp eye out! The educational info onsite tells you more about what you may find!
