Description

Starting from the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church Parking Lot, follow the trail to the left and rear of the graveyard. You'll have to shimmy around a locked gate. Once through the gate, continue down the dirt road, passing a cell tower on your right. The trail will eventually split off to the left (marked with a sign). Continue to follow the well-cleared trail until you reach the peak of the mountain.

You have successfully reached the height of 535', the highest land Louisiana has to offer.

Side Note:
Training is a must for Louisiana's highest peak. While I survived without crampons or ice axe, the air at 535' is considerably thicker than residence of locations such as Denver or the Himalayas may be used to. As such, lungs must be conditioned for slow regular breaths, sometimes even drinking in the humid air. Make sure to take time to acclimatize. This is also a joke. Don't let the "mountain" in the name scare you off.
