Trail shared by Bruce Hope

A trail to one of the only water sources along this stretch of the PCT.

Bruce Hope

Features Spring

This trail is within the Sky Lakes Wilderness and the usual federal wilderness area regulations and restrictions apply here. Practice Leave No Trace (LNT) backcountry skills and ethics. Camp 100 feet from fragile areas; bury human waste at least 200 feet from water, trails, and campsites. This trail is usually closed by snow between November and May.

Description

The 0.9 mile Middle Fork Basin Trail begins at the PCT just north of the PCT's junction with Sevenmile Marsh Trail #3703 on Fremont-Winema National Forest and ends at Ranger Spring. It’s a beautiful place to stop and cool off. This spring is one of the few water sources near the PCT between Honeymoon Creek and the northern boundary of the wilderness. It may, however, be seasonal depending on the last winter's snowpack.
