Trail shared by Sarah Baker

A steady climb through lush evergreen forest up Squak Mountain.

Sarah Baker

Features -none-

Description

The route starts at a small turnout on Mountainside Drive SW. The trail climbs steadily through a dense evergreen forest with a lush floor covered in moss and ferns. The trail passes multiple trails as it ascends through the forest along a steady grade. Make sure to follow the Bullitt Fireplace Trail signs. The trail is in good shape without many obstacles and is one of the main access points of Squak Mountain.

Shortly after a saddle separating Squak Mountain West and East, you'll come across the Bullitt Chimney, which is all that remains of an old summer home the Bullitt Family used before it was burned down. There are picnic tables here and it is a nice place for lunch.

The trail continues to Central Peak Trail, which can be taken to access the wooded Squak Mountain (no view).

Nice trail but tough climb initially. Tree cover and forest areas are nice this early fall season. 5.2mi
