Runner Notes

Shale rock and unsure footing towards the end.

Description

This trail is the hardest and easiest part of the Third Fork/Whalstrom Hollow Loop. Starting from the junction with the A-H Creek Trail #167, the trail has some gradual switchbacks followed by some great downhill after. The last of the three switchbacks feels never ending, but the view at the top is great. After this, runners will enjoy three miles of fun, winding downhill, but watch out for some shale rock towards the end.
