Parking is at the marked parking area with the portable toilet. You can go up to the actual TH, but it is steep with loose dirt/gravel and there is only room for a car or two.

A good number of trees were down, but they were all easy to navigate around.

This trail starts at the town cemetery. You are guided to park just below it, at a parking area with a portable toilet. Follow the road for about 1/2 mile until this trail and the Crystal Lake trail begins. I combined these two into a loop of about 14-15 miles.

This is an infrequently used trail, but had great signage whenever it connected with another trail. The trail climbs gradually eventually climbing above treeline, past the namesake lake(s).

I spent four days along this trail and the Crystal Lake trail and didn't see one person. The trail is used enough to be easy to follow but infrequently used enough that you'll likely have the trail to yourself.
