This trail leads to Morro do Couto; at 2,680 meters high, it is the eighth-highest point in Brazil. Morro do Couto is located in Serra das Prateleiras in Itatiaia National Park.
The trail departs from Posto Marcão and climbs steadily to reach the summit of Morro do Couto. There is one challenging stretch with rocking footing just prior to reaching the summit. Be careful on the way back down.
