Enjoy a short but fun trail to a viewpoint over two small spring-fed falls.

The area below the observation platform is closed. Resist the urge to climb down for better views—stay on the trail.

Description

This is a short loop trail that begins from the southeastern corner of the main campground. There are only a few parking spots available, and due to construction at the campground (as of November 2017), the park is requesting non-campers park up the road a ways and head to the trailhead on foot (before the campground entrance). You can of course take the loop in either direction, but by starting at the parking area and going clockwise you'll come to the overlook a little later and be traveling in the direction most people go.

The trail starts off flat and in the open but quickly enters fairly thick forest with reasonably full canopies that offer nice shade. You'll descend a ridge—the actual trail is well made rock quasi-stairs—but an informal path has become more used. You'll then follow the ridge, which lacks good views a little disappointingly. Fear not: the observation platform provides a clear view of one of the falls (really a small trickle over a ~4-5 foot drop) and the crystal-clear pool at its base. The other falls remains hidden unfortunately. There will likely be people down by the pool, which is off limits to preserve the ecosystem, so set a good example by not following them down. After the platform, the trail heads back to the parking area by utilizing an easy switchback to climb the ridge.
