Old No. 9 Trail, a repurposed railroad trail if you are looking to extend your run.
Description
This wide concrete trail follows Cibolo Creek. The trailhead starts at Boerne’s historic main square and has parking, bathrooms and a water fountain. Overall, the trail continues all the way to City Park where it is possible to connect to the Cibolo Nature Center trails. After crossing under main street, there is a beautiful stretch through River Road Park filled with a large variety of geese and ducks and a dam overlook. Beyond that, the trail becomes a sidewalk along River Road, but is worth continuing for the scenic bridge and waterfall found east of Herff Road. Parking is available at either end.
