Gets sloppy after it rains.

This is a non-technical trail that serves as a great way to descend to the Mariposa Trailhead. The King Trail begins at an intersection with the paved section of Mariposa Trail. When descending Mariposa Trail it will be the second fork on the right, and it is well signed. After a short, rocky section climbing to the top of a ridge (0.3 miles), the trail opens up and descends to the trailhead. Generally stay left, but the only trail intersection is the Froom Creek Connector, and navigation is simple.
