Road access is closed from November 1-June 1. The American Fork Canyon is a fee area.

Description

Pittsburgh Lake is located at 9,500 ft., so expect snow much of the year. The trail to the lake is rocky and steep, and frequently wide enough for two runners to run side by side. Be sure to run around the lake to see the old historic cabin.

It can be a bit tricky to find the trailhead due to a stream bed crossing. It can be accessed with a 4WD vehicle, or you can leave your vehicle and run up to the parking area.
