At the end of the
Skyline Trail, you reach a gate to the Napa Solano
Ridge Trail marking the start of the loop locally known as the Tuteur Loop. The trail is part of the Bay Area
Ridge Trail a system of trails encircling the San Francisco Bay. This section was added in 2005 and was the first trail easement on private land owned by the Tuteur Family Trust.
There are no big challenges either in steepness or technical features, just smooth singletrack all the way around with a small gully here and there.
At the upper end, you cross Marie Creek on a bridge, which is a nice shady spot for a breather. The south side is more brushy and there's more shade as the loop returns to Skyline past another gate.
