Features Views

Trails at Antoine Peak are multi-use and popular with equestrian riders and mountain bikers. Be alert and ready to yield appropriately.

Description

While not overtly technical, aside from some washouts, deep ruts, and a couple tight switchbacks, this trail offers some good cardio and decent views of the valleys below and peaks beyond. It's an alternating blend of singletrack, dirt road, and closed doubletrack roads.

Beginning at the west trailhead, climb up a short gravel path until you hit the main access road. Here, a newly constructed singletrack trail segment, built by volunteers with the Washington Trails Association, begins across the road and loops around an open, grassy slope with views south into the Spokane Valley.

Shortly thereafter, it connects up with a somewhat steep, old doubletrack road, which eventually tops out at an open knob and another viewpoint.

From here, the route continues on the main dirt road heading to the right, and climbs steadily all the way to the summit, where multiple radio towers signify you have arrived. Continue past the towers to where the road turns to a relatively new segment of singletrack that winds down the other side of the the peak.

Once you reach the bottom of the singletrack at a signed junction, continue straight back onto an old dirt road that winds it's way east to the intersection with the Canfield Gulch loop trail.
