“A more difficult intermediate trail with a great climb.”
— Nate Hawkins
Hesitation Point Trail is an out-and-back trail that ascends from Aynes Loop
to the Hesitation Point Overlook. Users will pass the foundation of a CCC cabin at the base of the climb. A steep climb and technical features like multiple rocky sections, logs, large step-downs, bridges, and tight switchbacks make Hesitation Point a very interesting trail.
The challenging climb brings you to the parking area at the overlook. Be sure to snap a few photos here, especially in the fall, before descending again. Hesitation Point connects with the Walnut Trail
, which begins at this parking area, just on the other side of West Gate Rd.
