Description

While insanely beautiful, the Nate Creek Trail may not be entirely a peaceful run as it's open to mountain bikers and more notably motorcycles. However, if you're okay with the louder company, you should consider this trail as it has some of the best aspens and views I've ever seen.

From Owl Creek Pass, the trail descends steeply all the way to Nate Creek itself. After crossing Nate Creek, the trail continues north on a steep ascent. The uphill is surrounded by awesome views of Courthouse Mountain and Chimney Rock and the grade will eventually mellow some.

After traveling past insane amounts of aspen, the trail hits a plateau. From this point, the trail points down on a rough descent. As it continues north the trail returns to a steeper climb that will give way to rolling terrain the trends generally upwards. And finally, you'll reach the intersection with Lou Creek #222. Turn left here to descend an ATV trail, or turn right to run up to Lou Creek Pass.
