Description

The trail starts on an easterly direction across the fruit tree plane. Take the bridge cross Arroyo Valle, a small creek, and cross the cattle gate. The trail will then rapidly ascend about 400 feet to the ridgeline where you'll get amazing views across the Tri-Valley with Mount Diablo and Livermore in the background and Lake Del Valle and the entire Del Valle Regional Park.

Keep following the gravel road along the east shore of Heron Bay. The trail will gently ascend and descend across the hills. Keep right at 2.6 miles to stay in the park. After 4 miles, the trail will quickly descend to Swallow Bay and loosely follow the shoreline. Cross another cattle gate at 5 miles before the final ascent up to Ridgeline Trail.

Stay on the trail. No exceptions. It hurts bad to run through wild brambles and over bars wire fences. 4mi
