“A winding trail atop the Bonnet Carre Spillway that was intended for bikes, but is still great for runs.”

Watch out for cyclists, as many corners are blind.
From the parking area, look for a large plywood sign that marks the trailhead. Follow this trail making sure to track the winding path (or cutting corners if you desire). The trail will take you through the woods providing common views of the spillway as you continue down the trail.
I would recommend going counter clockwise to give yourself as much time as possible to get out of the way of mountain bikers, although signs tell cyclists that they are to run the trail clockwise.
