Day running permits are required for San Jacinto Wilderness—retrieve from the USFS Ranger Station in Idyllwild.

Description

This is a well maintained major running trail from Humber Park in Idyllwild up to Saddle Junction, where the Pacific Crest Trail passes through. This is one of the main access trailheads into the San Jacinto Wilderness trail network.

Along the way, expect some moderate to steep grades and a fair bit of granite. Keep your eyes peeled for springs flowing from the hillside!

Run up and back on this trail and down o Willow Creek. DS is ok lots of roots and rock gardens, much better once you reach Saddle Junction. 13.3mi
