Description

Genesee Mountain Trail can be navigated in either direction, but heading south will give you the benefit of better views and a gentler elevation profile. Follow the easy-to-navigate trail as it passes by the trailheads for American Bison Trail and Genesee Summit Trail before joining up with Genesee Drive, a wide dirt road running along the perimeter of the bison enclosure. After a little more than a mile, the road will lead back to singletrack running as you circle around the north side of Genesee Mountain to the parking area.

Flora & Fauna

Most of the trail runs through tall, gorgeous pine trees. If luck's on your side, you'll get up-close views of the American bison herd owned and managed by Denver Mountain Parks.
