Narrow singletrack, steep climbs and descents, and an option to shuttle mean plenty of variety.

Overview

Open late spring through fall. Verify the trail has been cleared before embarking on this endeavor.

Description

At times nearly primeval, this trail snakes through a variety of eco-zones that reveal unending shades of green, from dark to fluorescent. The climbing seems to go on forever but rewards with steep, narrow descents that see more animal traffic than runners.

The trail can be traveled in a variety of ways:
1) As an out-and-back from the northern trailhead off Forest Service Road #1993.
2) As the start for the Olallie Ridge Epic.
3) Shuttled south-to-north. To access the highpoint of the trail take Forest Service Road #2638 to Forest Service Road #356 to the upper part of Forest Service Road #1993 at Horsepasture Mountain.

If you are interested in running this trail as a shuttle, Horse Creek Lodge & Outfitters provides shuttles. More information can be found on their website or by calling 541-822-3243.
