“The view is worth the effort you have to put in along this slightly challenging trail.”
— Lost Justpastnowhere
The trail is multi-use so be courteous to others out on trail.
This is a challenging singletrack with awesome views of the west coast of Oahu and the Pacific Ocean beyond. It's a technical singletrack and, at times, there is some exposure, so don't become overly preoccupied with the views. There are a couple places where you'll definitely want to slow down and watch your footing.
From east to west, the Kuaokala Ridge Trail descends towards its terminus near the Kaena Point Satellite Tracking Station (which will be to the left (west) on the paved road). The alternative road to the station from the west coast, requires a permit from the Division of Forestry and Wildlife and will require passing multiple guard stations.
It's probably best to climb the Mokuleia Access Road
and Mokuleia Forest Road to access this trail.
