To access this trail, you can park at the Kensington Metropark's Nature Center. The trail begins from the north side of the Nature Center and initially shares a trail with the Deer Run Trail
. The northern edge and western side of the trail passes through drier forest while the southeastern edge is in swamp land.
The swampy section has a number of bridges and boardwalks to help you along, and is a great area for seeing skunk cabbage in the spring. The trail intersects the Wildwing Trail
at its southernmost point. There are a number of small pathways you'll encounter along the way that can be used to shorten the trail.
