There are areas where the trail passes in and out of the watershed. Be mindful of signs regarding restrictions on dog access.

Description

This is a beautiful run along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail that allows easy access to Corner Canyon for those in Sandy and beyond.

This connector starts near the large, gray Stake Center (LDS Church Building) on Wasatch Drive in Sandy. Park in the parking lot next door. Head up the paved access path; just around the first corner, the trail starts to the left and bears east. Follow the trail up through the spruce tress, across the Hidden Valley access road, down the stairs and across the bridge.

Several rocky, technical sections break up the otherwise smooth singletrack. The views are unbelievable, including lookouts near the water tower. Past the water tower, you may want to take a break in the shade where the trails winds underneath two enormous boulders. Further down, you can take the 185-foot long Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge; be careful not to look down as it's nearly a 100-foot drop to the river below.

The trail passes the access points to Ralph's, Jacob's Ladder, and Cherry Canyon Trail. Expect lots of two-way traffic with runners, hikers, dog walkers, and mountain bikers; courtesy goes a long way here. The trail winds in and out of the watershed, so it is important to be mindful of the signs regarding canine access.

Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge is fun to cross and a great reminder of how much effort goes into building and maintaining trails!
