This is a short section between the more difficult trails of the north to the easier trails in the central trails, with a climb up to the Stoney Ridge Road crossing, then rolling trail to the Y at intersection 13, which connects to other segments of the system. It travels through hardwoods and mixed forest on singletrack trail.
