Description

Although the name of this trail is Osborn Loop, the trail itself is not a full loop. It starts on the Appalachian Trail only to end four miles later at a point farther up the Appalachian Trail. By using the AT as a connector, you are able to make a full loop run.

To access the blue-blazed Osborn Loop, start on the Appalachian Trail where it crosses South Mountain Pass Road and follow its steep terrain to the trail junction with the Osborn Loop. Once you've made it to the junction, the actual Osborn Loop is a piece of cake.

While easy and smooth-treaded throughout its entire length, don't expect great views from this trail. Instead, enjoy the feelings of seclusion and solitude it brings as you meander through its dense forest cover.

Upon reaching the end of the trail, you can head south on the AT to return to your car.
