Description
The Surprise Creek Trail leads to a remote beach on the South Fork Trinity River, with Surprise Creek flowing into the river through a scenic waterfall. The first half of the trail is a steep dirt road in poor condition, that is worth running as it is difficult to drive down without 4WD and high clearance. The second half of the trail is not marked and traverses over large rocks that must be carefully climbed, and can be difficult to navigate while carrying belongings.
Flora & Fauna
Gray pine, Douglas fir, madrone, alder, blackberry. Beware of extensive poison oak.
