Enjoy this 3 mile trail that is great for those looking for a quick trek through the beautiful maple trees of the park.

Need to Know

Occasional crossings for this trail occur at the Sabinal river and the rock "walkways" can be covered by a few inches of water especially if it has been raining so be sure to bring extra socks and shoes if you're not one for soggy feet!

Runner Notes

These trails tend to be very rocky, would not really recommend for running unless you have strong ankles!

Description

As you work your way around this 3 mile trail you'll gradually gain elevation by running up rocky slopes. A few slopes are steep, but with good foot positioning you'll be able to reach the top of the mesa somewhat easily. At the top, you'll be greeted by spectacular scenic views and rock faces. Getting to the top of the trail will allow you to look out at all of the beautiful hill country Texas has to offer. Trail signs posted along the way will help you find your way if you need some help.

Flora & Fauna

There are many plants and animals to see in this park from cacti to small fish in the stream beds, birds, lizards, and even the occasional turkey!

History & Background
