The trail is a pleasant 1.5-mile run through a mixed hardwood forest. It begins at a dirt road with a confusing name. Some maps refer to it as Biesecker Gap Rd., others Snowy Mountain Rd., and another as Forest Rd. The trail is approximately 200 feet north of where the AT crosses the road. Look for a yellow gate. There is a small pull off parking area nearby. The trail is mostly rolling hills of hard pack dirt with areas that are rocky. In mid-summer, the exposed areas were covered in knee-high weeds. There are no overlooks or other notable sights. The trail ends at the intersection of Hayes Run Haul Rd.
