Overview

I did this trail as an out-and-back, but if you have a friend and two cars it's a nice through run as well.

Need to Know

While this out-and-back run is pretty popular, if you are looking for another option or would like to try a different route, consider running a loop using the full Brown Mountain Trail.

Runner Notes

Rocky terrain and loaded with Jumping Cholla.

Description

This is a straightforward trail that ascends Brown Mountain. This trail is especially great as a sunset run. The trail is rocky, and there is plenty of Jumping Cholla along the trail so be sure to wear good shoes. Along the trail are many variety of cactus such as barrel cactus and saguaro cactus. This area borders Saguaro National Park. The trail is about 2.5 miles one way with commanding views of the Tucson Mountains.

Flora & Fauna

Jumping cholla, barrel cactus, and saguaro cactus.
