Fall Colors · Lake · River/Creek
Beware of roots jutting out along your path. They will trip you up, but enjoy the challenge! There are many other paths running through the area enclosed by the circular outer path that is reflected on the map.
Starting on the back end of the Guilford College campus by a beautiful pond that partially feeds the creek, you'll soon be following the trail to find an old metal gate blocking a service road that drops to the left off the road at the edge of the lake. This road descends in a moderate way to an intersection that leads left or right along the creek. This length along the creek and the hill are the only gravel portions of the trail, but it makes up nearly half the trail. Taking a left, you follow the path for a while until you loop back to where you started.
Flora & Fauna
The area has been logged in the past, so while much of it is a fairly well developed canopy-like forest of oak, maple, sequoia, and poplar trees, there is an area between the first and second mile that is a tall canopy of dense pine trees that are awesome to run along.
