Description

This trail begins on the southeast corner of the Cross Timbers Green Trail. It follows a doubletrack down a short, rocky hill and travels mostly through shaded forest that lines a small creek area. A word of caution about this trail would be that the majority of the surface makeup is a very fine grit sand making running a bit more difficult than you might normally find around this area.

The trail passes though some old growth forests with views into some lovely secluded meadows certain to provide some great wildlife viewing opportunities. The trail then travels across a small creek that will likely remain passable year round. A great place to fill up with water, assuming you have necessary means to filter it.

Just before the trail concludes at the Cross Timbers Maroon Trail, you cross an old forest service road that looks eerily like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie. A very nice trail with great canopy cover and lots of lush vegetation. The best way to connect with the upper reaches of the park.
