“Also called the Pine Swamp Trail, this route passes the highest elevation in Morris County, NJ.”
— Lou Poulas
Features: Birding — Fall Colors
This trail is one of the many options in Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. RunnerS can combine this route with other trails in the park.
This trail features the highest point in Morris County at 1,395 feet and skirts sections of a picturesque pine swamp. In the summer, this section can be quite buggy so be sure to bring repellent.
This trail is also excellent in the winter as it is well-marked and without significant elevation changes.
Flora & Fauna
