Description

This trail branches off of the Lake Wanaka Lookout Track and starts with a short, steep climb for the first quarter mile. After this, the trail levels out briefly and you'll pass two junctions for the Rocky Mountain Track. After the second trail junction, the Lower Circuit Track begins a winding and at times steep descent until it rejoins with the Lake Wanaka Lookout Track. Although you may have to mind your footing on the steeper sections, be sure to look up and take in the views of the area which are increasingly spectacular as you climb.
