In the springtime, the trails become flooded in sections and can be challenging to navigate. It will also become muddy and slippery. Good, technical trail shoes are recommended.
Within the Ganondagan site, the trail is mostly singletrack with many hills. The view and surrounding vegetation varies from woods to grasslands.
Once you cross Boughton Hill Rd, the trail becomes more rural, cutting though some farmland and following Great Brook. The trail in this section does connect to the Apple Farm Trail and continues around the Fairport Reservoirs, eventually coming to an end near Great Brook.
