Starting from the Lake Trail (Trail 1) the east branch of the Firetower trail slowly climbs a medium sized hill (locally speaking), with a series of wooden stairs on the steeper part.

Once at the top of the hill, you may climb to the top of the fire tower at your own risk for some good views of the surrounding area.

The western branch of the Firetower trail returns you back to the Lake Trail (Trail 1) down a slightly more gradual slope that is covered in gravel with occasional steps.
