“A mix of single and doubletrack, and home to a tree-top lookout bridge.”
— Kevin Ketchman
The trail system is open dawn to dusk, free of charge.
The largest single loop within Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, this trail starts and ends at the parking lot. Progressing counterclockwise, the trail begins with a stretch of doubletrack grass trail as it enters deeper into the woods.
Once into the woods, the trail turns to a tighter, more singletrack design, with plenty of roots and a few fallen trees creating a slightly more challenging section. One significant climb breaks up the trail, about mid-way, asking runners to give a little more effort, before exiting the woods at the 4-way intersection with Meadowview Trail
and Upper Fields Trail
. The trail crosses many of the other trails in the reserve, making it a sort of freeway of the trail system.
As you near the final stretch of the trail, runners will enter a thick field and begin a descent back to the pond and eventually the parking lot.
