“A nice route along the beautiful gorge to Niagara Falls.”— Sarah Baker
At one mile from the trailhead, a route leading to the right descends into the gorge. Continue straight following the gorge rim. The trail passes through Whirlpool State Park, there are great views of the Whirlpool, as well as bathrooms and picnic tables. The Whirlpool forms at a bend in the Niagara River and spins slowly, collecting debris at its center.
From Whirlpool State Park, the trail continues along the gorge rim, eventually making its way to Niagara Falls State Park. Follow the trail across a bridge and the Niagara River to stunning views of Bridal Veil Falls. Continue along the popular route to Terrapin Point which offers awesome views of Horseshoe Falls. If you have time, there are many tour opportunities in Niagara Falls State Park, as well as amenities such as gift shops, bathrooms, and restaurants.
