A segment of the Ice Age Trail with views of many glacial kettle lakes.”

Features: Birding — Fall Colors — Lake — River/Creek — Wildlife
The Circle Trail is located in the Chippewa Moraine segment of the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve. Expect short, steep climbs and descents on this winding trail. The majority of the trail is wooded, which will keep you a bit cooler on those climbs, especially in the summer months. While you'll be tempted to speed through the trail, stop to enjoy the ample views of many glacial kettle lakes.
Once you've completed this nearly 5 mile loop, you can choose to call it a day, or head out on some of the other 23 miles of trail that are available from the trailhead at the Chippewa Moraine Interpretive Center. Backpacking campsites are also present short distances off of the trail, if you'd like to extend your stay overnight.
Unless you have a magical cure for horseflies, they are thick in the heart of summer, so come prepared.
