Runner Notes
This trail is very runnable except for the large number of people - particularly on weekends!
Description
This trail is best accessed from a small parking area located on the west side of 89. Be aware that this parking area fill up quickly!
Start off on easy trail, then meet a short set of nicely-carved stone stairs after a quarter mile. Cross a lovely bridge at Eagle Falls.
Enjoy the falls and then continue on uphill until you can take a right on the
Eagle Lake Access Trail to Eagle Lake, which is just a tiny ways off the main trail. Take a cold dip in the lake and enjoy the relative solitude of this Tahoe gem.
The VAST majority of people turn around here, but the trail continues on, skirting up the ridge until meeting the Bayview Lake Trail. From that intersection, you can make a nice loop back to the highway by using the
Bayview Trail and then going back on the highway for a mile to your starting point.
