Trail shared by Dave Caldwell

An undulating trail on the north end of the Palos west side.

Dave Caldwell

Features Fall Colors

Closed for one weekend in August for the Palos Meltdown mountain bike race.

Runner Notes

This trail is heavily used by mountain bikers. Headphones are not recommended.

Description

Start at the Bullfrog Lake general use lot. From the trailhead, head north and the trail quickly winds to the west and south through a more open area full of large maple trees. The colors here are stunning in the fall. The trail then drops along a rocky downhill, landing on a small culvert over a small stream. The trail then starts a gradual climb to the southeast, passing the Campground Trail and two other unmarked trails, terminating at the intersection of the Green Trail.
