Runner Notes

This trail is easy for running; crosswalks are well marked. It is about 95% dirt and 5% paved through neighborhood streets.

Description

This trail is easy and spans parts of Newcastle and Bellevue. It has a very level grade except for the southernmost half mile where the terrain is rolling. There is also more shade near the south trailhead; otherwise, this trail is open.

This road provides very easy access to Lake Boren Park and the Newcastle business district, both a quarter mile east (look for the wooden trail markers). This route also connects to the China Lake Trail and the Cross Town Trail. The trail is pet friendly to leashed dogs and horses, making it a favorite among locals with four-legged friends.

Motor vehicles are prohibited except on the paved parts that occasionally join neighborhood streets.

Flora & Fauna

Though the path is located in a fairly urban area, there are plenty of trees, grasses, and flowers to take in along the way.
