This is an alpine run. Care should be taken for weather extremities. Hunters frequent this area.

Description

The track climbs steadily through beech forest to the treeline. From there, it follows a poled route along the Umukarikari Range (summit 1561 m). After several kms of ridgeline, the track drops down to Waipakihi Hut.
