No hiking, mountain biking, or running from October 1 to January 15. Trail is only for hunting during that time.
Overview
The Lawtonka Trails' Green Trail (which is not rating skill level), is a singletrack multi-use trail consisting of small rock gardens, short climbs, fast rolling meadows, with several small dry and wet creek crossings.
Runner Notes
Loose rocks along the trail and during the spring/summer the trail is overgrown with long grass and ivy.
Description
The trailhead is north of the parking lot crossing the fence on a bridge. The entire trail is marked with arrows/signs. There is a 2-mile extension on the north end of the trail to add to your hike/ride/run.
The trail is designated as multi-use for mountain biking and hiking. Watch your step over loose rocks, but be sure to look up and catch the awesome views of the lake and Mount Scott. You parallel Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge for most of the trail where you might catch glimpses of longhorn or bison through the fence.
