Runner Notes

Secluded, with rolling terrain to keep things interesting, this is a great route for running.

Description

If you're seeking solitude, you'll likely find it along this secluded trail. Though there are some steep grades, this trail is generally pleasant as it winds its way beneath lush, coastal forests. There will be plenty of sights to take in, and runners will be able to admire the unique ecosystem up close and personally. Enjoy the sounds of Elam Creek as you cross it, which you'll have to do at both the north and south ends of this trail.

If you want to extend your visit, there is a backcountry campsite located near the beginning of this trail. You'll need an overnight permit, so be sure to check in at the visitor center before embarking on an overnight trip.

This trail is also shared with horses, so it's best to keep an eye out for both riders and horse leavings.
