Description

Starting at West Branch Road, the blue-blazed trail begins steeply for the first mile. These are some of the steepest parts of the trail heading to the lean-to at Biscuit Brook. Once over the hill, you have a gentle descent down to Biscuit Brook. If you plan on camping at the lean-to on the way back, I recommend leaving your overnight pack here and continuing with a light backpack. The lean-to is on the left and well marked.

From the lean-to, you continue to follow the blue blazes for a little over two miles, until you have almost ascended Big Indian Mountain. The summit is 0.25 miles off of the trail on a well-worked track that is easy to follow.

Biscuit Brook lean-to. Great for making fires and hanging out with new friends. You can also drop your pack here while you hike Fir Mountain and Big Indian Mountain.
