“This passage of the AZT stretches north alongside Hwy 83 to Lake Road.”
— Chad Dailey
Starting in Oak Tree Canyon, around 0.75 miles from Hwy 83, this passage continues along FR 4072. The trail begins by making a final, small push up towards a gate before beginning a long, gradual descent over 1000 ft to the endpoint. The trail heads across FR 4064, passing another gate, as it circles the base of a small hill, and then drops into Barrel Canyon.
The trail crosses FR 231 and then ascends up to a gate on a pass where it then drops back down into Scholefield Canyon. Here, there is another gate and the trail begins to climb up past FR 4062, continuing toward Papago Canyon.
The next section turns into an old two-track road before returning to a singletrack as it goes through Mulberry Canyon heading to the north. Rising and falling along small hills and valleys, the trail arrives at one final gate, where it becomes a gradual downhill. The trail continues this way for a couple miles to the end of the passage at Lake Road.
