Runner Notes
Like most of Gambrill, watch out for rocks, which are easy to stub your foot on and tend to be hidden beneath leaves--think softball-basketball size. Most are firmly planted in the ground instead of loose. The hills on this loop make it an excellent place for an interval workout.
Description
There are several steep slopes and very little level ground on this loop trail, making this trail a great place to test your fitness. Much of this trail (especially the various overlooks) is shared with the other trails at Gambrill State Park, but this trail is an overall shorter loop, because the ascents and descents are more severe. The surface is packed dirt and rock.
